Background

Mike Booth, a corporate member of the Institute of the Motor Industry and the Institution of Diagnostic Engineers, has operated as an independent consultant since 1998. Prior to that date, he worked for seventeen years in Technical Services at Associated Engineering - by far the largest manufacturer of engine components in Europe. He dealt with quality control, warranty claims and customer technical assistance and eventually led the section responsible for technical troubleshooting. This was followed by five years at South London Pistons where he was responsible for all technical matters.

Mike Booth is on the list of independent consultants used by John M Bowers (Associates), who work for the Retail Motor Industry Federation on a sole provider basis. He was formerly on the list of consultants used by the Federation of Engine Remanufacturers but has operated independently of this organisation since November 2003 in order to concentrate on the publication of his own magazine 'The Engine Rebuilder'. Mike is also a former technical editor of the magazine ' Engine Repair & Remanufacture' and a contributor to its sister magazine ' Vehicle Electrics & Electronics'. He is also a contributor to 'Diagnostic Engineering', the magazine of the Institution of Diagnostic Engineers.
Additionally, Mike Booth has been a member of the Society of Expert Witnesses since 2002 and is listed on their Website as an expert on internal combustion engines.

He now operates a Technical Support Scheme (TSS) that provides ongoing assistance to engine remanufacturers and operates a technical consultancy for the benefit of both private individuals and businesses.

The principal activity of the consultancy is the operation of the Technical Support Scheme (TSS) which offers businesses protection and promotion as well as technical support on an ongoing basis.
Individual projects for private individuals and businesses are undertaken as part of the technical consultancy - no project being too small.
